Steps for setting torque value with torque wrench
Ensure that the wrench is in the closed state: First, make sure that the wrench is in the closed state, that is, the two halves are completely combined together.
Find the setting button or button: usually located on one side of the wrench, used to lock or unlock the socket so that it can move.
Adjust socket length: Press the setting button and hold half of the wrench, pushing or pulling it in the direction you want to adjust. This will move the socket along the center axis of the wrench, thereby changing its length.
Lock sleeve position: When the required torque value is reached, release the setting knob to lock the position of the sleeve.
Select the appropriate range of torque wrench: Choose the torque range of the torque wrench according to the specifications or process requirements of the fastener. The ideal torque setting should be maintained between 20% and 70% of the maximum torque value of the wrench, and should not exceed 90% as much as possible to avoid damage.
Adjust torque value: Pull down the torque adjustment band on the wrench handle and rotate the handle to adjust the values of the main and differential scale lines of the ruler to the desired torque value. After adjustment, fix the torque adjustment band and the handle will automatically lock.
Precautions when setting torque values
Verticality and horizontal deviation: The verticality deviation during the force application process should not exceed 10 degrees, and the vertical deviation in the horizontal direction should not exceed 3 degrees.
Steady force application: When pulling the wrench close to the preset torque, apply force steadily and do not apply impact force to avoid exceeding the preset torque value.
Maintenance: The torque wrench is a measuring tool that should be handled gently. After use, the set torque value should be adjusted to the lower limit of the preset range before storage, and stored in a dry place.
